Simple steps to take today
1. Ordering online removes the need for paperwork, printing and faxing. Better still, online is far quicker and less likely to lead to human error.
2. Help reduce your environmental impact by consolidating your suppliers to a single source. The less suppliers you have, the less vehicles you’ll have delivering to your office.
3. Along with bringing all your orders together under one supplier, try buying in bulk. Small orders are inefficient because they require disproportionately more packing, more effort in their processing and consume more energy in their delivery. Wherever possible, save smaller orders until such time as you can tie them in with another larger one.
4. You can make life easier for yourself and reduce your packaging wastage by buying bulk packaged products to refill reusable dispensers.
5. Obviously it pays to order products that are recyclable, but you may not have any control over the packaging in which your order arrives in. The satchels and air-filled pillows used by Corporate Express are made from a Type 4 plastic which is not easily recycled in Australia. So rather than allowing these materials to end up in landfill, we offer a Packaging Take-Back Program where we pick up these materials and recycle them for you. The only thing we ask of you is not to pop the pillows so we can reuse them later.
